The vaccination is split into five doses for those who have not
been vaccinated before. The first rabies vaccine dose must be administered at
the earliest after exposure. The subsequent doses must be administered on the 3rd,
7th and 14th day after the first vaccination.
Note that the rabies vaccine schedule varies for different cases.
For example, for an immunocompromised individual, it should be performed as the
doctor order. In the case of adults, the vaccine is administered intramuscularly
in the deltoid area. For children, it is administered on the anterolateral
region of the thigh.
