Wound treatment

(1) It is very important to wash and disinfect the wound on the spot and in time (preferably within a few minutes after the bite) to prevent rabies. First use 3% - 5% soapy water or 0.1% bromogeramine and then fully wash with clean water; For deeper wounds, use a syringe to penetrate into the deep part of the wound for perfusion and cleaning, so as to achieve a comprehensive and thorough cleaning. Disinfect with 75% ethanol, and then rub with concentrated iodine tincture. The earlier the local wound is treated, the better. Even if it is delayed for 1 to 2 days or even 3 to 4 days, the local treatment should not be ignored. If the wound has scabbed at this time, the scab should also be removed and treated according to the above method.
(2) Wounds should not be bound or seamed, and open wounds should be exposed as much as possible. If the wound must be bound and sutured (such as invading large blood vessels), it should be ensured that the wound has been thoroughly cleaned and disinfected and the anti rabies serum has been used according to the above methods.
(3) Use antibiotics or refined tetanus antitoxins when necessary. (4) In case of severe bite, anti rabies serum or rabies immunoglobulin should be injected around and at the bottom of the wound.
(5) If the immune effect
The level of neutralizing antibody and protection rate were the main indicators of the preventive effect of the vaccine. For the initial immunization, the neutralizing antibody appears 7 to 10 days after the vaccination, and the protection level can be reached after 5 doses of immunization (≥ 0.5IU/ml is required). The antibody was maintained for at least half a year. Those who are bitten again half a year after the full course vaccination should be immunized again.
If economic conditions permit, or it is a serious bite, it is recommended to use interferon in combination to enhance the protective effect
